The funeral Chapel of the Benavente family was ordered to be built by Álvaro de Benavente in 1544 and is located in the Church of Santa María de Mediavilla, on the Gospel side, separated by a magnificent grating by Francisco Martínez, dated 1554.

The works were carried out by the Del Corral brothers with polychrome and gilded stucco decoration in the style of Miguel Angelo, as well as brick and tile flooring.

The magnificent Mannerist altarpiece is the work of Juan de Juni and tells the story of the Virgin in five bas-reliefs.

Three tombs stand out, with recumbent statues, representing their maternal family.

The valuable grille that closes the set is by Francisco Martínez.

De 11:00 a 14:00h y de 16:00 a 19:00h

Inicio de las visitas guiadas a las 11:15h, 12:30h, 16:15h y 17:30h en la iglesia de Santa María.

Acto seguido se realiza la visita guiada a la iglesia de Santiago, aproximadamente a las 11:50h, 13:10h, 16:50h y 18:10h (desde la iglesia de Santa María).

CERRADO:

Los lunes, excepto festivos.

Para visitas al margen de la hora de inicio establecida, consultar disponibilidad de guía en la Iglesia de Santa María

Durante la visita guiada a la iglesia de Santiago es posible que ambas iglesias se encuentren cerradas.

Ante todo son lugares de culto por lo que el horario puede variar por la celebración de actos religiosos.
